Description: Levofem is a combined oral contraceptive pill used to prevent pregnancy. It contains two active ingredients: Levonorgestrel and Ethinylestradiol, which are synthetic forms of the female hormones progesterone and estrogen, respectively. Each pack of Levofem contains 28 tablets: 21 active yellow tablets and 7 inactive white tablets.

Content:

• Active Yellow Tablets: Each yellow tablet contains 0.15 mg of Levonorgestrel and 0.03 mg of Ethinylestradiol.

• Inactive White Tablets: Each white tablet contains 75 mg of Ferrous Fumarate, which is not a contraceptive but helps in maintaining iron levels in the body.

Dosage:

• Regular Use: Take one yellow tablet daily for 21 consecutive days, followed by one white tablet daily for the next 7 days. This 28-day cycle should be repeated continuously without any breaks between packs.

• Starting the Pill: Begin taking Levofem on the first day of your menstrual period. If you are switching from another oral contraceptive, follow the specific instructions for transitioning to Levofem.

• Missed Dose: If you miss a yellow tablet, take it as soon as you remember. If you miss more than one tablet, follow the instructions provided in the leaflet or consult your healthcare provider.

Caution:

• Drug Interactions: Levofem can interact with various medications, including antibiotics, antifungals, anticoagulants, and others. Inform your healthcare provider about all the medications you are taking to avoid potential interactions.

• Medical Conditions: Levofem is not suitable for women over 35 who smoke or have certain medical conditions such as blood clots, heart disease, or liver problems. Consult your healthcare provider before starting Levofem if you have any underlying health issues.

• Side Effects: Common side effects include mood swings, nausea, breast tenderness, and headaches. There is a very low risk of serious side effects such as blood clots and cervical cancer.

• Pregnancy and Allergies: Inform your healthcare provider if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or have any allergies before using Levofem.

• STIs Protection: Levofem does not protect against sexually transmitted infections (STIs). Using a condom in addition to Levofem can help protect against STIs.
